Obituary of Jennie Sinden (Yzerman)

Mrs. Jennie Sinden of Maple Manor, Tillsonburg and formerly of Delhi, passed away at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in her 97th year. Jennie was an excellent cook, including her memorable sticky chicken, pea soup, plum pudding and sauce, fantastic baking and decorating of shortbread cookies, pies, squares, and homemade applesauce. Her cooking skills were put to the test at harvest time when she worked long hours feeding the harvest gang. She was great at crafts, making sweaters for all the grandkids, hand towels and dish cloths, and Christmas crafts for everyone. Jennie took great pride in her flower beds and hummingbirds that came to it each summer. She enjoyed a good game of cards and spending wonderful time and sharing lots of laughter with her family. Former Jennie Martina Yzerman. Beloved wife of the Late Irvine Sinden (2001). Loving mother of Linda Gradish (Late Joe 2015), Brenda Houler (Albert), Laverne Sinden (Rhonda), and Charlotte Foreman (Ben). Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and new great great granddaughter Mya. Dearest sister in law of Margaret Osaer, Marion Foster, Norma Sinden and Clifford Sinden. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her sister, Martina Sol (2003), by her brothers Barney Yzerman (2004) and William Yzerman (1925), and by several brothers in law & sisters in law. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (mfh.care) for visitation on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Mullin officiating. Interment in Langton Baptist Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
