Mr. Fernando Correia Da Silva of Delhi, Ontario passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, September 23, 2019 in his 74th year. Fernando was proud of his service with the Portuguese Army, serving for 22 months in Mozambique. He liked to follow world events, keeping up with the current news in Africa well after his service ended. He liked to attend to his fruit trees, often crafting his own wine and beverages. Fernando also spent many years as bridge builder in the construction industry. Beloved husband of Deolinda Silva (Lopes Ferreira). Loving father of Fernardo (Kimberly), Jack (Late Sara) and Abilio. Cherished grandfather of Selena and Liliana. Dearest brother of Jose (Ana), Miguel (Olivia), Avelino (Maria), Antonio, Fatima (Late Joaquin), Lourdes (Late Jose), Clementina (Antonio) and Lucia (Late Antonio). Predeceased by his parents Antonio & Teresa Silva, and his sister Maria. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (mfh.care) for visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Lynedoch, Ontario. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
