Mr. Michael Rusnak, formerly of Tillsonburg, born and raised in the Delhi area, passed away at the Caressant Care, Courtland, on Saturday, December 21, 2024 in his 76th year. Michael was a Retired Police Srgt. having proudly served with the Tillsonburg Regional Police and the O.P.P. spanning a faithful career for over 30 years. Outside of his career, he was deeply passionate about hunting, fishing, and preserving the beauty of nature. Known for his kind heart, Mike often cared for injured animals and believed in nurturing the world around him. Mike was a true nature lover, participating and contributing in many Wildlife memberships. Above all, Mike cherished his family. He found immense joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. From beach visits and ice cream trips to playing with puppies, showing pigeons, and sharing stories in laughter. Mike’s grandchildren will always remember their grandpa as big, strong and funny. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Loving father of Roxanne Emerson (Luke), Robyn Brown (Kale), Michael Rusnak (Megan) and their mother, Diane Dekoninck. Cherished grandfather of Summer, Austin, Julia, Sterling, Michael, Jacob, Madeleine, Riley and Ivy. Dearest brother of John Rusnak (Grace), Ron Rusnak (Christine), Rick Rusnak (Jessica) and David Rusnak (Terri). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his sister, Linda Mitchell (2009). As per Michael’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Capitol 33, 93 King Street, Delhi on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Ducks Unlimited Canada can be made through the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
