Obituary of Sharon Balcom
In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of Sharon Alene Balcom of Otterville on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Sharon was the cherished daughter of McKay and Alexandrina Davis. Loving wife of the late Gerald Jack Balcom (1999). Treasured mother of the late Gerald Jay Balcom (2024) (Lynda-Lea) and Stephanie Pelling (Mark). Proud, loving, and kind grandmother of Brett Pelling (Hayley), McKenzie Pelling (Jesse), Lyndsay, Andrea, and William Bryce Balcom. Adoring great grandma to Jayce, Lucan, and Alanis Gilchrist. Also survived by her brother John Davis (Helen). Sharon leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Many will remember Sharon as a competitive figure skater and exemplary figure skating coach. She touched the lives of many young skaters, encouraging them to always do their best and be proud of their accomplishments.
Sharon enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with family and friends. She loved family dinners together, dinner and theatre out with friends, and supporting them with generosity and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion for those who knew her.
As per Sharon’s wishes, a Private Family Service will take place at a later date with Inurnment in the Otterville Cemetery. If you wish, Memorial Donations to the Campfire Circle (Camp Trillium) or VON Sakura House, Woodstock would be appreciated by the family. Memorial Donations can be made through the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care).
