Mr. Richard (Dick) Donohue of Vanessa, passed away surrounded by his family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, November 1, 2024 in his 83rd year. Richard was born and raised in Norfolk County where he spent his entire life not 1 mile from the home farm where he was born. He married the love of his life Judy in 1963 and raised 3 boys on the farm. After he retired from farming, he drove truck for Norfolk Disposal for many years. His passion for motorcycles and motorcycle dirt track racing led him to spend many weekends at racetracks across Canada and the US. If he was not out riding his Harley or cutting his beloved grass, he could be found visiting with his cherished grandchildren. He spent many hours with them at arenas, football fields and cooking his famous French fries at countless memorable sleepovers. Beloved husband of the Late Judith (Vandepoele) Donohue (2014). Loving father of Jeff Donohue (Tracy), Travis Donohue (Carrie) and Richard "Tim" Donohue (Sharon). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Brandon), Amy (Brad), Sarah (Connor), Joshua (Brook), Evan (Jessica), Clayton, Shae-Lynn, Marcus and Tyler and great-grandfather of Claire. Dearest brother of Paul Donohue (Edith) and Mary-Lou Thomas (Late Dave). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his two sisters, Doreen Smith (2023) (Late Gord) and Shirley Komienski (2020) (Late Joe). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of LaSalette Cemetery, LaSalette. Donations to the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford, the A.L.S. Society of Canada or the LaSalette Area Rural Roots will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
