Mrs. Laura VanElslander of Simcoe, and formerly of Delhi, passed away peacefully at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, September 23, 2024 in her 98th year. Laura was a Member of the Delhi Seniors Club and enjoyed playing cards there and was a Member of the Norfolk General Hospital Auxiliary for over 32 years. Former Laura Mary Wood. Beloved wife of the Late Robert VanElslander (1984). Loving mother of Raymond VanElslander (Lena) and David VanElslander (Deborah). Cherished grandmother of Sara (Andrew), Bryan (Whitney), Lori (Devon), Michael (Nadia) and Jena and great-grandmother of Nolan, Alison, Keean, Aliyah, Blake and Emmerson. Predeceased by her siblings, Fred (Sam), Mervin, Evelyn, Jessie, Leta, Bob and Jim. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Private Family Inurnment in Newkirk Cemetery, St. Williams. Memorial Donations to the Delhi Community Health Centre or the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
