Obituary of Kay Moore

Mrs. Kay Moore formerly of Delhi passed away at the Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in her 93rd year. Katherine, known as Kay to her family and friends, was born in Kingsville, Ontario, and moved to Leamington shortly after her birth. She went to school and married her husband J.D. They moved to Simcoe in 1951 where they both worked for Simcoe Leaf – J.D. as a tobacco buyer and Kay as a secretary. They moved back to Leamington in 1959 before settling in Delhi in 1972. Kay was a Faithful Member of the O.E.S. Vittoria Chapter since 1958. She taught Sunday School in both the Simcoe & Leamington United Church. Former Katherine Barbara Lafeber. Beloved wife of the Late John David (J.D.) Moore (1989). Loving mother of John Moore (Patricia). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Adam) and Pamela (Liam) and great grandmother of Kurt, Jalena, Annika, Sloan and Sullivan. Also survived by several nieces, nephews & in laws. Predeceased by her parents: Nikolas (1981) & Magdalene (Petschner) Lafeber (1996), and by her brother Andy Lafeber (2002) and his wife Katie. Kay was a Life Member of the Delhi United Church.  She volunteered locally in a primary school reading program and as the Corresponding Secretary for the founding Board of the Delhi Community Health Centre.  She also spent numerous hours fundraising for the Health Centre. The Family would like to thank Dr. Thorogood and the staff of Norview Lodge for their care and compassion. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 for visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Ted Smith officiating.  Inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe at a later date. Donations to the Delhi Community Health Centre, the Who Did It Club (Simcoe) or the Norview Lodge, Resident Activity Fund (cheques made to Norfolk County in care of) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
