Obituary of Luc Girard

In Loving Memory

It is with broken hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Luc Girard of Norwich and formerly of Delhi on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in his 55th year. If you know Luc, you know his little dog, Buffy! Luc’s love for the outdoors was a central part of his life. Whether he was taking his Jeep off-roading through rugged trails, kayaking along serene waterways, camping under a canopy of stars or exploring the woods, he found joy and peace in nature. His adventures in the wild were a source of happiness and a way to connect with the world around him. His love for the outdoors was matched only by the love he had for his family. Beyond his love for the outdoors, Luc was a skilled woodworker. His hands could transform simple pieces of wood into stunning works of art. His creations, filled with care and craftsmanship, are a testament to his dedication and artistic spirit. Each piece he made was a reflection of character-strong, enduring and beautiful. He was an excellent teacher and always eager to share his skills. Luc also took great pride in his vehicles and projects, in addition to attending various automotive shows. Luc was always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors and the community. Luc was never short on a joke and the coffee cup was always full. Above all, Luc was the heart and soul of his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife and children, always putting their happiness above all else. His warmth, kindness and unwavering support made him a pillar of strength for those who knew him. Luc’s adventurous spirit and deep love for his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Predeceased by his loving wife and best friend, Kim (Olsen) Girard (2011) and cherished by his loving children, Alicia McKay (Joshua) and Jessica McKay (Brandon). Dearly loved partner of Tracey Brandon (with her children Robert Brandon, Nichole Brandon (Akeem) and Olivia Murray). Cherished grandfather of Brandon Carrell, Special Papa to Kia Barrett. Dearest younger brother of Pierre Girard, Patrice Girard, Robert Girard, Judd Girard, Jocelyn Girard, Cecile Girard, Monic Girard, Lucie Girard. Special Uncle to Jean-Luc Junior Larose and Gabriel Girard. Predeceased by his Parents: Fernand (2015) & Rita (Cloutier) Girard (2024).  We welcome Family & Friends to come Share Stories & Memories for Luc’s Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Delhi on Saturday, September 14, 2024 starting at 2:00 p.m. Private Family Inurnment will take place at Delhi Cemetery.
