Obituary of Irene Nicoll (VanGoethem)

 

In Loving Memory

 

Mrs. Irene Nicoll of Tillsonburg, and formerly of Marshall Avenue in Delhi, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at the Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in her 100th year. Former Helena Irene Maria Van Goethem. Irene was a former Member of the Catholic Women’s League of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs in Delhi and a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #125 Ladies Auxiliary in Delhi. She was an avid golfer and loved to play cards, and was also a Member of the Delhi Senior Citizen Friendship Centre. Beloved wife for 78 years of William “Bill” Nicoll. Loving mother of Nancy Nicoll O’Neill (Mickey) of North Carolina. Survived by Betty Ann Smet (Larry) of Delhi, several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Robert Nicoll, her siblings Maurice Van Goethem, Ghiseleen Van Goethem, Madeline Church, Albert Van Goethem and her infant triplet siblings Angela, Rachael and Gabriel. A special thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg for their compassionate and dedicated care of Mom. As per Irene’s wishes, a Private Family Funeral Service will take place. Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Delhi Community Health Centre or the Charity of your Choice can be made through the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
