Obituary of Marjorie Varnes

Mrs. Marjorie “Marie” Varnes of Delhi, passed away peacefully at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in her 87th year. Marie loved gardening and enjoyed bird watching and feeding all varieties of birds. She was well known for her love of baking and trying out new recipes on the family such as her famous raspberry dumplings and fried apple pies. Among watching birds she also enjoyed attending live plays and musicals. And last but not least, Marie had great pride in being a member of the Eastern Star for many years. Former Marjorie Marie Murray. Beloved wife of the Late Lorenza Varnes (2008). Loving mother of Jenny Beaver, James Varnes (Robin) and Tim Varnes (Late Sherry, 2018). Cherished grandmother of Candice Good (John), Late Chris Mailloux (2015), William (Elle) & Kenny Mailloux, Kaitlin & Jenna Beaver and Aaron, Lauren & Jacob Varnes and great-grandmother of Logan & Zoe Good, Sophie Lefler and Vivienne Mailloux. Predeceased by her brother, D. Jack Murray (2013), and by her parents, Ed and Eva (Ryder) Murray. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Chapel Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ted Smith officiating.
