Obituary of Simonne Vanbesien
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Simonne Vanbesien passed away peacefully at the Delhi Long Term Care Centre (PeopleCare Delhi) on July 8, 2024 in her 96th year. Former Simonne Maria Magdalena David. She was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice (2009) and her only child, John (2013). Loving mother-in-law of Bonnalynn (Bonnie) Vanbesien. Cherished grandmother of Janna Redmond (James) of Ottawa and Craig Vanbesien of Kitchener and great-grandmother of Alexander and Andrew Redmond. Simonne was predeceased by her parents Henri Joseph David and Zoe Maria Blondeel and two sisters Cecile David and Suzanne David. Survived by sister Erna Callewaert and brother Oswald Callewaert in Belgium as well as nieces and nephews in Belgium and Canada. Simonne was born in Ruddervoorde, Belgium in 1929, met and married her husband Maurice in 1949 and the two came to Canada in 1950. She was a hardworking woman and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family, fun times with friends at the Belgian Hall in Delhi and babysitting her grandchildren. As per Simonne’s wishes a Celebration of Life with a Private Family Inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe will take place.
