Obituary of Thelma Beal

Mrs. Thelma Beal formerly of Tillsonburg passed away at the Summit Heights Retirement Residence, Hamilton on Saturday, April 6, 2024 in her 83rd year. Thelma’s career as an elementary school teacher began in 1961 at Delhi Public School.  She had an 18-month foray over to Walsh Public School after Paul’s birth at which time she returned back to Delhi.  Thelma taught history and art to the grade 7 & 8’s and she loved when it was time for the pottery module as she greatly enjoyed using the kiln in her classroom.  Eventually the senior grades were moved out to Windham Centre and Thelma accompanied ‘her kids’ and it’s from this school that she retired in 1996.  After her retirement Thelma travelled throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. Former Lois Thelma Jean Cole. Beloved wife of the Late Lawrence Beal (1997). Loving mother of Laurie (Bob) and Paul (Shannin). Cherished grandmother of her grandson, Lawrence. Dearest sister of Donna Kiss (Late John) and Wilma Durham (Gil). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Our Lady of LaSalette Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
