Obituary of Raymonda Christiaen

In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Mrs. Raymonda Christiaen, formerly of Delhi, at V.O.N. Sakura House, Woodstock on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in her 95th year. Born the oldest of three and the only daughter of John and Jeannette (VanBelle) DePauw. Raymonda had an adventurous life with Louis, beginning with tobacco farming in Aylmer for ten years, moving on to 15 years of the Belgium Hall days (1962-1977) where many meals were prepared for many events. Their final business venture was establishing and operating the Turkey Point Marina (1977-2005). Many friendships and lasting memories were made along this journey. The love that Raymonda had for her family and friends never diminished during these times and only got stronger with age. Former Raymonda Regina DePauw. Beloved wife, partner and best friend of 61 years to the Late Omer "Louis" Christiaen (2011).  Loving mother of Lorraine Vuylsteke (Richard), Lawrence Christiaen (Mary), and Larry Christiaen (Tami). Cherished grandmother of Ryan (Susan), Lindsay (Chris), Alysia, Dana, Laci & Trina and great grandmother to Remi, Nora, Lucy and Evelyn.  Dearest sister of Emiel DePauw. Also survived by several nieces, a nephew, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her brother, George DePauw (2010) and sister in law Simmone DePauw (2022). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held with Rev. Fr. Seejo John officiating. Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the V.O.N. Sakura House, Woodstock or Charity of your Choice will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
