In Loving Memory
With sad hearts and never-ending deep love, we say goodbye to Edward, our Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa who passed away on January 31st, 2024 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wonderfully funny and loving parents, Alphonse and Margaret, Edward was the beloved husband of Janet, and together they nurtured and raised six children: Ted (Roxanne), Richard (Kacie), Jeff (Lisa), Suzanne (Geeve), Jennifer (Brenden), and Jeremy, each of whom carries his legacy and many fond memories forward. Loving Grandpa to Megan, Julia, Malaysia, Shalini, Michael, Dylan, Hayden, Sabrina, Kaylan, Jaden, Shania, Denim, Rena, and Great-Grandpa to Phoebe and Sophie. Edward's love flows across generations. He also held a special place in the hearts of his relatives in Belgium, where he spent the first decade of his life as a boy, during and after the war. Growing up to become a man of profound strength, he worked tirelessly and without complaint. He built a successful family farm to raise his family. He never wavered from his core values, rooted in his faith, centered around love for his family, an appreciation of the beauty of nature, and life on the farm. A wonderful example for his children, Ed's connection to the community, through St. Ladislaus Church, Our Lady of Fatima School, the Delhi Harvest Fest, the Community Halls in Delhi, Knights of Columbus as well as many other ways, was always deep and heartfelt. He cared about and was a dear friend to many friends and families in our community. Ed's laughter, storytelling, and connection with people were the source of so many smiles. With Janet by his side, they explored the world with interest and fascination, creating wonderful memories. We say goodbye with profound love to our Dear Husband, Father, and Friend. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Delhi District Hungarian Hall on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. If desired the family kindly requests donations to be made in Edward Stockmans memory to the Woodstock Hospital’s Chemotherapy Clinic.
