Mrs. Mary Jacques of Norwich, passed away at the VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in her 88th year. Faithful member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Women’s League for many years. After a long life of tobacco farming, Mary volunteered her time and energy to Woodstock Hospital providing handcrafted baby blankets for the maternity ward and baking breads for her family.  Her love of family, Sparky (her canine pal) and her walking companion, Jen De Waele, filled her days until the end. Formerly Mary Elizabeth Van Hooren. Beloved wife of the Late Michel Jacques (2017). Loving mother of Richard (Deborah Lee) and Laurie (Spencer Bailey). Cherished grandmother of Amanda Minardi (Eric), James and Chris (Nicola). Dear sister of George Van Hooren (Late Deanna 2013). Predeceased by her siblings: Andre (2009) (Edna 2002), Julia (2015) (Jean 2021) and Maurice (1931). Predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Amedee Jacques (2001) (Martha) and Adrien (2001) (Alice).  Survived by many nieces & nephews.  Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Parish Prayers said at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Our Lady of LaSalette R.C. Cemetery. Donations to the C.N.I.B. or the VON Sakura House, Woodstock will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
