Loretta Martin of LaSalette, passed away peacefully at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, January 13, 2024, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the Late Ken Martin (1991). Loving mother of Victoria Hare and Randy Martin (Jennifer). Cherished grandmother of Trevor Hare (Krista), Dennis Hare, Deven Hare (Stacey), Ryan Hare, Meagan Martin, Matthew Martin (Tesa), Wesley Martin and great-grandmother of 10 precious great-grandchildren. Dearest sister of Diane Dedrick (Late Dean). Adored Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Hilda Armstrong (2001). Loretta was an avid golfer well into her 80’s and defied the game’s most incredible odds by achieving a hole in one, not once but twice. The home she and Ken built together was where everybody was welcome, day or night. Family and friends would share laughs, enjoy a home cooked meal, play card games and indulge in a fully stocked pantry of treats. Loretta’s generosity for helping others brought her great joy and her cheerful nature left an impression on everyone she touched. If you asked her for help, her response was always “you betcha”. Loretta’s enthusiasm was contagious and uplifting; it was rare to see her without a smile. She was energetic and full of vitality and vigour “lightning in a bottle”. We will always love “Sweet Loretta Martin”. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at in the chapel on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of LaSalette R.C. Cemetery, LaSalette. Donations to the La Salette Area Rural Roots (Church) will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
