Obituary of Lee Pierssens

In Loving Memory

After a very brief illness, Lee Stanley Pierssens passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 9, 2023 surrounded by his family by his side. Lee was a proud yet modest 3rd generation tobacco farmer who perfectly encapsulated all that is Norfolk County. He was a proud Raider through and through. His love and commitment to the town of Delhi was second to none. In retirement, Lee had a passion for restoring classic vehicles, from his Dodge Demon to his rally inspired Triumph Spitfire. He spent countless hours in the garage with his furry friend, Ollie; bringing his visions to life from the ground up. Lee had a love for cooking and hosting events and would happily open up his home to entertain. His personality, sense of humour and endless stories would brighten up any room and he will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and acquaintances.  Above all else, Lee loved his family with all his heart. His children were his world, his pride and his joy. Lee left behind his beloved wife of 34 years, Debbie Pierssens and his three beloved children, Ainsleigh (Matt), Hillary and Scott. He will truly be missed by his two granddaughters Taylor and Madison. These two little girls were the apple of his eye and he loved reading and spending as much time as possible with them. He was the beloved son of the Late Alfons Pierssens (2013) and Justine Pierssens (2020). He was also the beloved younger brother of the predeceased Wayne Pierssens (1975) and Patricia VanGulck (2003) and brother- in-law Edward VanGulck (2011). Lee was the much loved son-in-law of Johnnie and Betty Verbuyst and brother-in-law to Brenda VanLaecke (David). Lee also left behind a brother Richard, countless nieces, nephews and godchildren. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 1:00 to 6:30 p.m. followed by Prayers said at 7:00 p.m. A Private Family Memorial Mass with Inurnment to be held.
