Obituary of Hugh McElhone

In Loving Memory

Mr. Hugh McElhone of La Salette, passed away at the Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in his 57th year. Hugh was a Norfolk County farmer and Agriculture Writer for Annex Publications. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy and saw distinguished service aboard the HMCS Gatineau. Hugh served on the OPP Auxiliary for eight years and many years as a St. John Ambulance volunteer. He was proud of his altar service at Our Lady of La Salette Church and worked hard as a volunteer for the La Salette Area Rural Roots in the church and hall preservation. Also a member of the Board of Station Arts Centre in Tillsonburg and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 526 (Teeterville). Beloved son of Jim and Marva McElhone. Loving partner of Chris Jezovnik. Cherished brother of David (Mary) McElhone. Dearest uncle of Laura and Sarah. Also survived by Dorothea Jezovnik (Late Branko, 2011), many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at the La Salette Historic Church, La Salette for visitation on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on  Friday, May 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of La Salette R.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the LaSalette Area Rural Roots can be made at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
