Obituary of Cliff Whitehead
In Loving Memory
Mr. Cliff Whitehead passed away at Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 44 years to the Late Dorothy (Castles) Whitehead (1993). Cliff was the epitome of a perfect gentleman and a wonderful role model and loving father of Jim (Jennifer), Bob (Lauret) and Don (Arlene). He was also the most adored grandpa to Eric, Patrick, Jesse, Eli, Daina and Jodi. Treasured great-grandpa of Henry. Cliff was the eighth child of a total of thirteen children of Fred and Adah (Osborne) Whitehead. Dearest brother of Max and Jeff. Predeceased by his siblings, Raymond (1992), Henry (2007), Wilf (1985), Victor (1930), Evan (2013), Lee (2016), Kay Webb (2012), Marva Babbey (2008), Ken (2018) and Marion Canon (2022). Also predeceased by his special friend, Marion Sinden (2015). Cliff had a 46 year career as a printer in Delhi and was a very active member of the Delhi First Baptist Church for many years. In addition to his family, Cliff was very passionate about baseball and played on the Delhi Tobacco Men Team who won two provincial championships in 1951 and 1952. He also loved singing with the Gentlemen of Harmony Barbershop Chorus where he was a charter member and sang enthusiastically for several decades. A special thank you to the staff of Norview Lodge and Norfolk General Hospital for the care and love they provided Cliff while he was there. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Delhi First Baptist Church, Delhi on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Kevin Babbey officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Delhi Community Health Centre or the Delhi First Baptist Church will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
