Mr. Michael Leo Verkest formerly of Delhi, passed away at the Cedarwood Village Nursing Home, Simcoe on Sunday, February 19, 2023 in his 101st year. Mike enjoyed his outdoor outings and his buddy Peter. Beloved husband of the Late Marion (Dredge) Verkest (2015). Loving father of Andrew Verkest (Cheryl) and the Late Ronnie Verkest. Grandfather of Randy, Robbie and Corrina. Great-grandfather of Austyn, Sabrina, Renee and Levyn. Great-great-grandfather of Nevaeh and Hendrix. Dearest “Uncle Mike” to Larry & Carol Dredge. Treasured friend, uncle to Rene Verkest (Norma). Special friends and pals to Allan, Ryan, Jennifer, Jarrett, Jeff, Jeremy, Hunter and Tenley. Michael will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his brothers, twin Marshall and Joseph, and by his sisters, Mary and Madeline. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ted Smith officiating.
