Mrs. Irene Hasilo of Delhi passed away at her home on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in her 95th year. Irene was a very active and appreciated member of the community, having received the honour of Delhi Citizen of the Year in 1991 for her contributions and service. She was the Past President of the Catholic Women's League of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church in Delhi, the Past President of the Delhi Long Term Care Centre for many years, a Member of the Delhi Friendship Centre, a Member of the musical group the Rhythmaires and was a Member of the original fundraising committee for the Delhi Community Health Centre. Former Irene Elizabeth Berenyi. Beloved wife of the Late Paul J. Hasilo (1977). Loving mother of Victoria Luki (George), Paul Hasilo (Beth), John Hasilo (Bonnie) and Anne Jackson (Bob). Cherished grandmother of Mark Luki (Bev), Lisa Bouchard (Henri), Craig Hasilo (Joelle), Bradley Hasilo (Jen), Lyndsay Hasilo (Julian), Joanna Jackson and great-grandmother of Alexa & Zachary Bouchard and Evelyne & Chloe Hasilo. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by her parents George & Anna (Kovalces) Berenyi and her sister, Margaret Borbely (2016). Prayers at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment in Delhi Cemetery.
