Obituary of Annie Potz

In Loving Memory

 

Mrs. Annie Potz of Delhi, passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, December 26, 2022 in her 91st year. She was a Member of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Catholic Women's League and Member of the Delhi District German Home, Ladies Society. Annie was born in Slatinik, Yugoslavia in 1932 and immigrated to Taber, Alberta in 1952, where the Kleiner Family worked in the sugar beet fields. They moved to the Straffordville area working in tobacco. Annie & Matthew worked hard in life on their farm and did everything together for each other and for their family. She adored her grandchildren & great-grandchildren and loved to bake. Some of her specialties were Tortes and Black Forest Cake, and she enjoyed working in her vegetable garden. Former Annie Kleiner.  Beloved wife of Matthew Potz for 68 loving years.  Loving mother of Mary Ann VanGeertruyde (Late Sam, 2022), Caroline DeLeye (Gilbert), and Sharron Potz.  Cherished grandmother of four grandchildren: Chris (Chaundra), Chantal, Karen (Jason) & Kevin (Ashley). Treasured great grandmother of Kaitlyn, Sarah, Connor, Colin, Evelyn and Alivia.  Dearest sister of John Kleiner (Irma), Joseph Kleiner (Late Teresia, 2016), Katie Scheikel (Late Karl, 1985), Theresa Huck (Late Joe, 2018) and sister-in-law of Alina and Hilda. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by her two brothers, Adam Kleiner (1986), Tony Kleiner (2021), and her brother-in-law Stephen Potz (1989). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Delhi Community Health Centre will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
