Obituary of Edward Schweertman

Mr. Edward Schweertman of Nixon passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Sunday, November 6, 2022 in his 78th year. Ed dedicated his working career to Delhi Industries for 40+ years. He was an avid car enthusiast, working on and enjoying classic cars as well as following Nascar. He took great pleasure in playing pool, music and dancing. Ed and his wife Grace had a wonderful relationship, acting like newlyweds until the very end. He was also a long time member of the Jaycees. Beloved husband of 54 years of Grace (nee Albrecht). Loving father of Richelle Schweertman, Richer (Tracy) Schweertman, Christine Schweertman (Ray Wallace) and Eugene Schweertman (Clarissa Powell). Cherished grandfather of Gordy and Mason. Dearest great-grandfather to Aubree and Addilyn. Ed will be missed by his sister Florence Stauffer and sister-in-law Susan "Susie" Schweertman. Predeceased by his siblings Fred (Richelle) Schweertman, John (Marie Comer) Schweertman, Rosie (John) Smithson and Ruth (John) Setterington. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery, Vienna.
