Mr. “Joe” McClure, formerly of Delhi, passed away at the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, Simcoe on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in his 98th year. He was a dedicated tobacco farmer to the end, always checking on the progress of the crop. Joe was so proud of his family. He was known as “Mr. Cruise” for his super slow cruises of the neighbourhood in his pickup. Member of the Pigeon Club of Langton, Joe also loved to build everything from houses to shelves. Beloved husband of the Late Margaret (Elku) McClure (2017). Loving father of Judy Van Laecke, Ronnie McClure and Ed McClure (Rhonda). Cherished grandfather of Michele (Frank), David (Brenda), Kevin (Brenda), Craig (Holly) and Shannon (Glenn) and great grandfather to Alannah (Gregory), Devon (Jenn), Paige, Lauren, Owen, Claire, Gray and Vivian. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 for visitation on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Alan Dufraimont officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, the Alzheimer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
