Obituary of Fredrik Gerritsen

Mr. Fred Gerritsen of Brantford, passed away suddenly at the Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in his 58th year. Fred was a huge fan of NASCAR, Jimmy Johnson being his favourite driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his Mustang. He loved his dog, Dusty, who is already missing him very much. In his younger days, he could be found at the pool halls, playing for fun and competing in tournaments. He was an artist, who loved to draw, build and collect models and make string art. As a young man he worked in the tobacco fields and as a bartender while in more recent years he drove a tow truck. He was a very fun and social person, making friends wherever he found himself. Beloved husband of Donna Schweertman. Loving father of Travis and Kyle (and their mother, the Late Pam Gerritsen, 2021) and stepfather of Jordan Pope (Alex). Cherished son of Lucille Elliott (Ray) and the Late Arend Gerritsen (2011). Dearest brother of Arend (Carol) and Armond (Rene) and brother in law of Denise, Larry (Corie) and Kevin. Deeply loved uncle of Marshall, Derrick, Katelyn and Niki (Jaime) and will be missed by the rest of his friends and family. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Delhi Friendship Centre, 418 Queen Street, Delhi on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Donations to BREATHE, the Canadian Lung Association can be made at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
