Obituary of Joseph Szigeti

Joseph Szigeti of Delhi, passed away quietly at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, December 31, 2021 in his 87th year. Joseph's hands were his life. First as a violinist in the first orchestra in Delhi and playing weddings with his band, "The Rhythmaires". Later, those same hands became heavy and callused from many years of trade in carpentry and as a long-term employee of Fernlea Flowers. He worked hard and gave generously of all he had. And when time allowed, he was an avid fisherman who loved to laugh and tell stories. Joseph was a cherished member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, the Late Carol (Penfold) Szigeti in 2004 and his sister Trudy (Goldie) Szigethy in 2020. He was the loving father of Lisa (and Fred Devillers) and Joy. He had five grandchildren: Emeline (and Gabriel), Guillaume (and Marina), Jeremy, David and Loïc, and two great-grandchildren: Isaac and Iris who all loved him very much. His two feline companions, Sven and KitKat are also saddened by his passing.
