Obituary of Pamela Gerritsen

In Loving Memory

Mrs. Pam Gerritsen of Delhi, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in her 67th year. Loving mom to Travis and Kyle. Pa to Niki Carter (Jamie) and her children, Braxton (Pepper), Madi and Rissa. Cherished sister of Linda Laking (Ken), Dave Thompson (Mary), Jackie Dawson (Rick), Cindy Urquhart (Tim), and Russell Thompson. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Kendra (Pat), Sarah (Kyle), Jennifer, Branden (Jodi), Amber (Jayson), KC, Dakota (Joey). Proud great aunt of Boston, Cohen, Denver, Wendy and Avri. Daughter-in-law to Lucy (Ray) Gerritsen. Special friend to the Gerritsen families: Fred (Donna), Armond (Renee), Arend (Carol), Poncho (Marion); Lucienne Raymond, Turk. Predeceased by her father, Ira (1991), by her mother, Barbara (1998), by her loving brother Doug (Huggy 2010), by her brother in law, Ken Urquhart (2013), by her Grandma Betty (2017), and Art Gerritsen (2011) and Jackson Carter(2009). Pam worked hard her entire life to make an honest dollar, and like many began working in the tobacco fields of Norfolk County, spent years at Fernlea Flowers, Bartending/ Coat check at The Delhi Belgian Club, and over a decade at Tim Horton’s before retiring. She was a people person who never met a stranger she didn’t know. A part of Pam will always be found in Turkey Point with her love of the water and the music. In her prime many, many nights were spent upstairs at the Belgian hall enjoying the bands. She loved the Toronto Maple leafs, drinking tea, her snow globe collection and Hallmark Christmas movies, but most of all, her love and devotion for her family was paramount. A Special thank you to Rosie and Doreen. You made all the difference in a day. We’re thankful for the VON and HomeCare ladies for all of the care. Memorial Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church, Delhi on December 30, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Due to Covid restrictions, a Private Family Service will follow with Pastor Kevin Babbey officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. Memorial Donations to the ALS Society or H/N Senior Support Services can be made at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
