Obituary of Maurice Dekoninck
In Loving Memory
Mr. Maurice Dekoninck of Delhi, passed away at the Delhi Long Term Care Centre, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in his 93rd year. He loved to Fish and enjoyed his time fishing at his northern cottage in Gogama. He was a master at making wine and loved to share his wine socially with others. Maurice loved to cook and barbecue for friends and family. He loved to host large family gatherings on special occasions. Astrid and Maurice loved to travel and were able to travel to Europe and Florida. He loved to watch hockey, both live and on TV. Maurice was a Mason from the time he arrived in Canada in 1950 and worked on projects such as the German Home, Belgium Club and Hungarian Hall as well as our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. Maurice loved to spend time with family and grand children and was a kind and gentle person loved by all. Beloved husband of the Late Astrid (Demonk, 2021) and the Late Georgette (1971). Loving father of Ron (Marlene), Rick, and Diane Rusnak (David). Cherished grandfather of Ronnie (Christine), Jeremy (Jessica), Abbey, Ainsley, Ryan, Roxanne, Robyn (Kale) and Michael (Megan) and great grandfather of Todd, Megan, Jase, Summer, Austin, Julia, Sterling, Mike, Jacob, Madelyn, Ryan and Ivy. Dearest brother of Yvonne Vanbavinckhove (Late Andre, 1998). In consideration of the continuing health and safety of our friends and family, a Private Family Memorial Service will take place with Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Delhi German Home on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. observing the mandatory COVID vaccine protocol.
