Obituary of Lucien Deelen

Mr. Lucien Deelen of Delhi and formerly of Langton, passed away at the Delrose Retirement Residence, Delhi on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in his 87th year. Lucien was a former Member of the Delhi Lions Club, and a former Member of the Delhi Belgian Club and their Dart Club. He also liked to be in the outdoors fishing, liked tinkering around the shop and playing darts. Beloved husband of Anise Leone Romel-Deelen and the Late Ivy (Vuylsteke) Deelen (1986). Loving father of Micah Deelen (Mary), Kelly Deelen and father in law of Patti Deelen. Cherished grandfather of Wesley, Alexandra, Ash (Scott), Sam (Kyle), Keegan and great grandfather of Owen and Hugh. Dearest brother of Julien Deelen (Carol), Gilbert Deelen (Jeannette), Jeanne McLay (Warren) and brother in law of Gerry Bonnett. Survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his son Ron Deelen, his sisters Lucy DeBackere & Mary Phillips, and his brother in law Frans DeBackere. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 for visitation on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Friday March 1, 2019 at 11:00 am.
