Obituary of Bessie Herman (Beard)

In Loving Memory

Mrs. Bessie Marie Herman (nee Beard). Entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 after 96 years of living life to the fullest. Together again at last with her beloved husband, Harold. She will continue to inspire her family, Larry and Moira of Tillsonburg, Floyd and Liz of Blyth, and Carol Beth (CB) and Bruce Pappin of Pembroke, as well as her three granddaughters, Laura (Mike Bedard), Carly (Joe Turford) and Alex (Matt Glousher) and three great-grandchildren Lola, Lars and Harrison. Bessie is enjoying a heavenly Beard reunion with her brothers Percy, George, Bill and Ron, and their infant sister Mary. She will be missed by family and friends far and wide, and her legacy will live on in the work she did to help Home Children and their descendants reclaim their histories. Bessie was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rhineland for many years, and then Peace Lutheran Church in Tillsonburg. The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Tillsonburg Retirement Residence and Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke for unbelievable TLC through the past few years. Visitation will be at the Murphy Funeral Home, Delhi (519) 582-1290 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 12, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Tillsonburg at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 13, 2019. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, Rhineland. Donations to Peace Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
