It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon “Gord” DeRochie on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Gord found joy in the simple things in life. He loved the quietness of nature, boating, fishing and simply spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He was a devoted fan of the Montreal Canadiens and enjoyed following the team, sharing in the excitement of every game and cheering them on through every season. Whether watching hockey or spending time by the water, Gord knew how to enjoy the moments that really mattered. Gord will be fondly remembered for the many memories he created and will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family. Beloved husband of Rosanna (Brolese) DeRochie. Loving father of Benjamin (Brittany). Cherished grandfather of Mieha and Henk. Dearest brother of Doug DeRochie (Vivian) and Catherine Cepuch (Andrew). Also survived by his father-in-law Angelo Brolese and several brothers & sisters-in-law and several nieces & nephews. Missed terribly by his Best Feline Friend "Gidget". Predeceased by his father Gerald DeRochie (2011) & his mother Mary Frances (Mac Donell) DeRochie (2024), by his sister Maureen DeRochie (1973) and by his mother-in-law Bruna Brolese (2023). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and for Knights of Columbus Prayers at 7:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church (Ingersoll) on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. noon. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Woodstock. Donations to the LaSalette Area Rural Roots (Church), the Canadian Cancer Society (Prostate Cancer Research) or the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre (LHSF) will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
