Obituary of Margaret Nichols

Mrs. Margaret Nichols formerly of Delhi, passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Sunday, August 9, 2026 in her 86th year. Margaret was co-owner/operator of Nichols Gravel with her late husband Gary for over 60 years. Outside of work she became an avid golfer with the Delhi Golf and Country Club, was a former track coach with the Delhi Legion Track Club and spent many years bowling in the Belgian Club Ladies League. She also enjoyed many trips to escape the winter to Florida, Las Vegas, Hawaii and Cruises in the Caribbean. Margaret was a proud grandmother who enjoyed bragging about her grandchildren’s accomplishments and will be greatly missed by all of her family. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years. Former Margaret Dorothy Stewart. Beloved wife of the Late Gary Nichols (2020). Loving mother of Sharon Jacques (Alan), Dwayne Nichols and Darryl Nichols (Theresa) and mother-in-law of Joanne Nichols. Cherished grandmother of Shannon (Ray), Craig (Michelle), Leslie (Zachary), Mitchel, Lyndsay (Nathan) and Chase and great grandmother of Parker and Colton. Dearest sister of John Stewart (Doria). Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her two siblings, David Steward (2009) (Late Mildred) and Mary Purchase (2025) (Late Jim). The family would like to thank the V.O.N. P.S.W’s and Wellness Team at Cedar Crossing Simcoe. Also thank you to Dr. Soenen, Dr. Bak, and Healthcare Staff for their Compassionate Care in her final days at N.G.H. As per Margaret’s wishes, a Private Family Funeral Service will take place with Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery.
