Obituary of Stella Krupicz
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Stella Krupicz, formerly of Delhi, passed away at Cedarwood Village Nursing Home, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in her 92nd year. Stella was a graduate of the Brantford Hospital nursing program (1956) and worked for many years in both Long Term and Palliative care. She was proud member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Women’s League, The Women’s Institute, Port Rowan Library Founding Committee and Delhi Horticultural Society. While raising five children and working on the farm, Stella occasionally nursed in the off season, working part time in Simcoe or Tillsonburg over the years. After a number of years away from nursing, Stella went back to school to refresh her nursing knowledge and then worked at Sacred Heart Villa before shifting to home nursing in Long Term and Palliative care. Stella enjoyed this demanding role as it drew out her caring nature helping people recover from illness or accidents or assisting them through their final stages of life. Not a role many people want yet one that it is very much needed in society. Patch work quilting caught her interest for a time. Working with the Women’s Institute to create the quilts allowed her creative side to come out within the group. Stella had to be creative on the farm as typical harvest gangs had to be fed. Cooking for 5-10 more mouths in addition to family kept her on her toes. Her garden work provided vegetables for this gang and kept her busy during the summer months. Stella was also the unofficial TEAM MOM as her kids grew and joined school sports, Stella picked up and dropped off various family and non-family members from football, soccer and basketball teams. As time passed, the role of grandmother and eventually great grandmother filled her time. With Ted, the two enjoyed the extended families of their children and attended as many activities as their health allowed. Former Stefani Szwedo. Beloved wife of the Late Ted Krupicz (2009). Loving mother of Paul (Jeannine), Steve (Alison), Christine (Late Sean, 2018) and John (Dana) and mother in law of Annette Krupicz. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Matt), Jessica (Scott), Jason (Tessa), Mary (Luke), Ben, Katrina, Scott, Cole, Jaiden and great grandmother of Everett, Emerson, Hunter, Brynn, Kinsley, Kolton, Tristan, Andy and Maddie. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by her son, Stan (2014), and by her brothers, Joe & Tony Szwedo. Prayers at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of LaSalette R.C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society or Delhi Community Health Centre will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
