In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of Denise Olivia Pires of Brantford on Sunday March 8, 2026, at the Brantford General Hospital, in her 57th year. Denise was born in Toronto, Ontario and moved with her parents and brother to Delhi in the late 1973 where her parents owned and ran Pires Grocery & Fish Market until 1997. Growing up, she helped her parents in the store stocking shelves, helping customers at the cash register, pumping gas, and enjoying a "treat or two" from the candy and chocolate shelf. She enjoyed travelling and visited Portugal, France and Jamaica to visit family and friends. Denise always loved coming to family gatherings and celebrations. One thing to know about our Portuguese Culture is.... We LOVE Food, talking very loud, laughing, dancing and eating more Food. When we gather with our family and friends, there is always someone to talk too and laugh with and then, more Food. We all really enjoy our food. She collected, teddy bears, beanie babies, unicorns, and spent time doing puzzles, playing board games, reading and watching movies. Cherished daughter of Aurora (Neves) Pires and the Late Manuel Pires (2022). Loving sister of the Late David Pires (1997).
