Obituary of Marcel Van Torre

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Marcel Van Torre formerly of Cherry Street, Otterville. Marcel passed away at the Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock with his loving family at his side on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in his 95th year. Marcel was a true farmer to the core, growing tobacco and ginseng. He was an avid fisherman and always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Faithful Member & Volunteer with many organizations, including, the La Salette Cemetery Board, the Delhi Belgian Club, and was also a Past President of the Norwich Minor Hockey Association. Member of the 3rd Degree, Knights of Columbus, Delhi-La Salette Council #5095. Beloved husband of the Late Irene (Vuylsteke) Van Torre (2003). Loving father of Leona Norman (Glenn), Ken Van Torre (Sandra) and Randy Van Torre (Mary). Cherished grandfather of four grandchildren: Brandon (Kayla), Jennifer (Tyler), Craig (Carly), Jordan (Brianne) and four great grandchildren: Carter, Audrey, Noa and Lottie. Also survived by several extended family & friends in Belgium, Canada, US and Malaysia. Predeceased by his sister, Annie McCready (1992). As per Marcel’s wishes a Private Family Funeral has taken place with Interment in Our Lady of La Salette Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the La Salette Area Rural Roots, the Campfire Circle (Camp Trillium) or the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation can be made at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
