Mrs. Dorothy Pierssens, formerly of R.R. #1, Simcoe passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, August 11, 2025 in her 94th year. Dorothy was a proud and longtime member of the Delhi Belgian Club. Her lifelong passion for tobacco farming began on her parents’ farm – Robert and Margurite Verkindt – in LaSalette and continued alongside her husband on their own farm. Dorothy and her husband shared a love for travel, spending many winters exploring the world together. Above all, she found her greatest joy in supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always present and cheering them on in all of their activities and special celebrations. Anyone lucky enough to taste her famous French fries will remember them with a smile. Former Dorothy Jacqueline Verkindt. Beloved wife of the Late George Pierssens (2013). Loving mother of the Late Philip Pierssens (2025), Linda Bokla (Mike) & Kimberly Caudron (Glen). Cherished grandmother of Danielle Jones (Jonathan), Roxanne Pierssens-Silva (Les), Merissa Bokla, Keith Bokla (Robin), Brittany Caudron-Wirth (Aaron) and Amanda Propper (Jeremy) and 14 great-grandchildren: Cole, Piper, Adriano, Filipe, Ryan, Audrina, Avery, Charley, Bowen, Harlow, Easton, Remi, Cora-Leigh and Dahlia. Also survived by several nieces & nephews.  Predeceased by her granddaughter, Nina Pierssens and by her brother, Roger Verkindt (Late Elaine) and by her brother-in-law, Alfonse Pierssens (Late Justine) and sister-in-law, Margaret Monteyne (Late Marcel). As per Dorothy’s wishes, a Private Family Funeral Service will be held with Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery.
