Obituary of Colleen Burks
In Loving Memory
Colleen Elizabeth Burks (nee Wilkins) passed peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday July 13, 2025. Predeceased by her parents, Horace Wilkins (2012) and Florence Wilkins (nee Walker, 2023). Survived by her five siblings: Evelyn (Bill), Geoff, David, Becky and Ben (Keri) as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Beloved mother to Ben (Claire), Sarah (Duane), Amy (Spencer) and Becky (Alex). Grandmother to Noah, Jenny, Hazel, Bea, John Joseph, Reuben and one on the way. Born on January 27th, 1960, in Nipigon, Ontario, Colleen was the daughter of a travelling Baptist Pastor and spent time in many different towns in Ontario and Quebec. This included stops in Buckingham Quebec, Pickering Ontario, and eventually put her roots down in Springfield, Ontario. Colleen enjoyed crafts, quilting and gardening. She cherished her time with her grandchildren whom always left a smile on her face. Her career time included working in a law office and bookkeeping for the family farm and charities. She also drove school bus for several years and will be remembered by the many kids that rode her bus. Friends may attend at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Twinem officiating. Interment in Courtland Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
