Obituary of Helen Matecsa
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Helen Matecsa, formerly of Scotland, passed away peacefully at the Brierwood Gardens, Brantford on Monday, May 26, 2025 in her 100th year. Helen and her husband Nicholas farmed for over 35 years. She loved: gardening, travelling, in particular going south in the winter, casino trips with her friends, her Heritage including special Hungarian baking, canning and cooking. Helen also enjoyed playing cards and was an avid painter. For many years, she was an active Member of the Delhi District Hungarian Hall and the St. George Greek Catholic Church in Courtland. Beloved wife of the Late Nicholas Matecsa (1999). Loving mother of Bettianne Szeider (Ernest) and the Late Rosemary Galloway (2014) (John). Cherished grandmother of Sally (Scott), Jennifer (Todd), Sarah and the Late Matthew Szeider (1990) and great-grandmother of Kendyl and Camryn. Predeceased by her brother Joseph Radvansky (2025) (Julie 2023). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 4:00 to 700 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held with Interment in Delhi Cemetery.
