Obituary of Armin Benke
In Loving Memory
Mr. Armin Benke of Tillsonburg, passed away peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in his 90th year after a long struggle, but it wasn’t without that German fight in him. He helped his mom and brothers, as well as himself, escape the war in Germany. He had a long successful job in the auto industry in the United States. He moved to Canada and gave into his passion to become a successful poultry farmer. He married Gloria and they lived just outside Langton in a beautiful home they built together for over 30 years. He gained two daughters, Linda and Marnie, and a son he adored, Ted. He loved anyone that worked hard. Building Purple Martin Houses and bird watching became one of his hobbies along with raising and riding horses, mainly after he retired from poultry farming. He enjoyed USA politics and the history of Germany. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Beloved husband of Gloria (Bozek) Benke. Loving father of Linda Bozek (Michael), Marnie Drost (Tom) and Ted Bozek (Kimberly). Cherished grandfather of Ted Bozek III and Demetrius Bozek. Also survived by his brother, Otto Benke and by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his brother, Kurt Benke (2025). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Andy Alway officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Donations to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the Nurses and Doctors at Tillsonburg Hospital for taking extra care of him in his final days.
