Obituary of Jason Watson

In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason (Watty) Watson, of Delhi, on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 36, after a valiant 26-month battle with cancer. Jason was surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, ON, when he passed.
Jason was a man full of life, energy, and determination, with a relentless zest for living. His intense competitive spirit drove him to excel in sports, where he achieved great success. A talented hockey player, Jason won two OMH championships with the Tillsonburg Tornados and played for several teams, including the Petrolia Jets Jr B, Norwich Merchants, Dresden Jr Kings, and Burford Bulldogs. He was also co-captain of the Gemini Football team, leading them to a TVRAA Southeast Championship. A dedicated athlete, Jason played for the Gemini basketball, hockey, and soccer teams. He was a Level 3 minor hockey referee and also refereed Tillsonburg minor soccer, sharing his passion for the game with others.
Jason’s love for life extended beyond sports. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying boating, his family farm, camping, fishing, archery, riding motorcycle, and woodworking. His skill and creativity were evident in the beautiful live edge harvest tables and other woodworking projects he crafted in his garage-turned-workshop. Amanda often joked that she couldn’t park her car because Jason had claimed the space for his craft. As a proficient golfer Jason enjoyed many hours on the golf course conducting business and enjoying the comradery with friends. He found joy in every occasion, often celebrating with a dark Belgian beer in hand, sharing laughter and good times with those around him.
A lifelong learner, Jason started his machinist apprenticeship at Oil Well Supply Company in Petrolia at the age of 18. He later achieved top sales for CPP, Fidelity, Investia, and Bridge Force, and as the youngest advisor, Jason earned numerous designations in estate planning, insurance, and financial advising.
On December 1, 2019, Jason and his wife, Amanda, became the proud co-owners of Dolmor Salon in Simcoe, where he became an active member of the Simcoe BIA in 2020.
Throughout his life, Jason never let anything define him, least of all his battle with cancer. With determination and an unwavering will to live, he used his experience to inspire others. Jason started a YouTube channel to raise awareness of alternative treatments, meeting with renowned doctors and survivors from around the world. He shared his journey openly, offering hope and support to those in similar situations. Jason’s legacy is one of perseverance—he wanted to be remembered as the guy who never quit, no matter the odds. His inspiring podcasts, particularly his video with Dr. Seefried M.D., continue to touch lives and can be viewed on his YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/@jasonwatson6104.
