Obituary of Albert Jacques

In Loving Memory

Mr. Albert Jacques, formerly of Delhi.  It is with deep sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of our father at Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg, on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in his 97th year. Loving father of Kristine Vandenbussche (Marshall), Larry Jacques and Alan Jacques (Sharon). Proud Grandpa ‘J’ to eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dearest brother to Charles ‘Chuck’ Jacques (Flo). Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (Osaer) Jacques (2007) of 57 years and his sister Lea Sinden.  He will also be missed by his longtime companion Diane VanWynsberghe. Dad was born in Chatham, Ontario and was raised on a tobacco farm which led his family to the Delhi area. Throughout his life, he owned and operated a gas station, worked in the auto sales business and was an insurance adjuster in his later years. He had a great passion for sports where he gained many lifetime friends. He could be found on the golf course or managing a hockey team but baseball was his greatest love. He was a Proud Member of the 1952 Ontario Senior Men’s Championship Team which was inducted into the Norfolk Sports Hall of Fame. The Family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Woodingford Lodge for their love and support to Dad during his care.  Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Private Family Celebration of Life will take place with Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Delhi & District Minor Hockey Association, Delhi Minor Baseball or to the Charity of your choice will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
