Obituary of Irene Gadal
In Loving Memory
Ms. Irene Gadal of Delhi passed peacefully in her 98th year surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe. Irene was a loving mother to Phyllis Boyd (Late Bruce, 2008) and a cherished grandmother of Roger Empey (Ana), Shelly-Marie Murchie (Paul), Mark Booker (Margaret) and Renald Tardif. Adored great-grandmother to Hayley and Blair, Josh, Jordan and Olivia, Mathew, and Bradley. Predeceased by her mother and father, Alfred & Exilda (Perrault) Berthelet and by her four brothers and five sisters. Irene was an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #125 Delhi and a Member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Women's League. A contagious laugh and a love for baking, Irene was known for her pistachio cake and famous chocolate chip cookies. A crossword enthusiast and avid reader for romance and thrillers, Irene’s heart was in the mountains of North Vancouver, British Columbia where she worked & lived until retirement. Irene, known as grandma to many, lived a full and beautiful life that will be dearly missed by all. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Service held in the Chapel at 12 noon.
