
Obituary of Helen Szobota
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Helen Szobota, formerly of Adams Avenue, Delhi, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, on Thursday February 6, in her 95th year. Helen had many friends and family visiting and working at the family tobacco farm at R.R.#1 LaSalette. She took great pride in her vegetable garden and the long row of beautiful flowers that lined the driveway. The Szobota Farm was well known for their delicious and abundant meals for all. Helen was a great cook. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of time spent with her and grandpa at the farm. Helen and Louis, loved traveling in their retirement. Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba, Florida, all were favourite destinations with wonderful memories. Formerly Helen Medve. Beloved wife of the Late Louis Szobota (1995) for 45 years. Loving mother of Edward Szobota (Marla) and Louis Szobota Jr (Chris). Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dearest sister of Lillian Bare (Dale 1997) Predeceased by her sister, Patricia Lehocki (2014) (Late Joseph 1987). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519-582-1290) (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Light lunch to be held at the O.L.Q.M. basement after the Interment. The Family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Norfolk General Hospital Nursing Home, N.G.H., and Dr. William Wynveen for their exceptional care and compassion.
