Obituary of Philip Pierssens
In Loving Memory
Mr. Philip Pierssens of Windham Centre, Ontario passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in his 71st year. As a tobacco farmer, Philip took great pride in tending to his crops, spending countless hours touring the fields he so loved. In the off-season, he could often be found in the bush cutting wood, embracing the peace of nature. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family and his community. A passionate traveler, he journeyed across the globe with a curiosity and a deep love for history. He was equally passionate about music, having played bass guitar for many years, filling his home with the sounds of his talent. Philip was also an incredibly devoted grandfather, a constant presence at his grandchildren's hockey, soccer, football, and figure skating events, always cheering them on as their biggest fan. A proud member of the Delhi Belgium Club, he was involved in his community and volunteered his time at HN Community Senior Support Services, offering help and kindness. Beloved son of Dorothy (Verkindt) and the Late George (2013) Pierssens. Loving father of Danielle Jones (Jonathan) and Roxanne Silva (Les). Predeceased by infant daughter, Nina (1986). Cherished grandfather of Piper & Cole, Adriano, Filipe and Ryan. Dearest brother of Linda Bokla (Mike) and Kimberly Caudron (Glen). Loving uncle to several nieces & nephew. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Norfolk General Hospital, Roulstons Pharmacy and the Norfolk Family Health Team, especially Dr. Nunn, Sara Redecop, and Roselle Slaght, for their exceptional care and compassion. Respecting Philip’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held with Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation can be made at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
