Hazel grew up on the Burwell Road, Eden, Ontario. She was the daughter of Peter and Alberta Burwell. A country girl at heart, loved horseback riding in her early years and would take her horse and wagon, crossing pastured fields and lanes, only to arrive on the edge of Tillsonburg to deliver her Goshen school teacher to her Tillsonburg address. As the years progressed to married life and children, she lived in Eden and Courtland where she and husband, Alex, ran their business, Courtland Auto Sales. She adored her pets, had a love for gardening and travelling to Mexico. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
