Obituary of Hugh Zimmer

In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Hugh Clarence Zimmer at Harvest Crossing Retirement Community in Tillsonburg on January 9, 2019 after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 73. Hugh is predeceased in 2012 by his loving wife Kathryn Field Zimmer. Hugh was the son of the Late Iva (Gehring) & George Zimmer of Delhi. Dear father of Adam and his wife Ann of Cambridge, Rebecca and her husband Paul of Guelph and Vicky and her husband Hans of St. Marys. Cherished grandfather of Samantha, Isabella, Persephone, Viktor, and Nathan. Predeceased by his sister Barbara Zimmer and brother in law Craig Field. Hugh is the brother and best friend of Fred (Mara) Zimmer of LaSalette and their children Rena (Matt) and Leah (Blair). Hugh is also survived by sister-in-law Jan Field (Stan) and her children Kerri and Kris Field. Hugh graduated from the University of Guelph, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program in 1969. Hugh was a longstanding member of the Otterville farming community alongside his brother Fred.  Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 for visitation on Sunday January 13, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday January 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ted Smith officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
