In Loving Memory
Mr. Hugh Hyndman of Norwich, passed away peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital, on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the age of 83. Hugh was a farmer through and through. He never met a living thing he could not love. He looked after his pigeons everyday, on the days it was hard and on the days it was easy. Hugh loved his cats and lovingly welcomed every one that ended up on his doorstep. When he gardened, he could take the plants that wouldn't grow for anyone else and nurture them into something wonderful. If a plant needed to be removed, he would take it and plant it somewhere else so it could grow. His Red International Tractor was also very special to him. Among his many interests was collecting Arrow Heads. At his heart, Hugh was a farmer and he spent his life making sure that everyone and everything had a place to grow into something wonderful. He will be sadly missed by his twin sister, Helen and her husband Elmer, by his sister, Marilyn and her husband Arnold, and by his partner of 32 years Linda Reid, her son Robert and his wife Wendy, and her daughter Heather Lynne. He was a loving grandpa to Scott, Madeline, and Peter. Hugh will be missed by his nieces and nephews and their families; Michele, Michael, Shawn, Duane, Darren, Leanne, and Jamie. He was a proud great-grandfather (Papa) to Macklin and Maelie. Predeceased by his parents, the Late Morley & Vera (Lee) Hyndman, and by his sister, Sharon (2007). Friends may call at the Bookton Presbyterian Church for visitation on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 12:30 until time of Celebration of Life Service held at 2:00 p.m. Private Inurnment in Bookton Cemetery. A Special Thanks to the Woodstock General Hospital and Staff for their wonderful care of Hugh.
