Mrs. Betty Willaert of Simcoe, passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, on Thursday, March 5, 2026 in her 70th year. Betty was born September 23, 1956. She grew up in Langton, Ontario. She attended Annandale High School in Tillsonburg and then Valley Heights High School near Langton. Betty attended Laurier University for one year and then Niagara College for 3 years, where she received her Early Childhood Education degree. Shortly after her graduation, she married her husband, Steve. Betty thoroughly enjoyed instructing and teaching young children and only paused her career to devote all of her attention to raising her three boys. She adored her children and grandchildren. Betty never complained in life, even in her final years and days. She will be deeply missed. Former Betty Jean Parry. Beloved wife of Steve Willaert. Loving mother of Darcy (Cathrin), Dwayne (Kristie) and Lance (Terryn). Cherished grandmother of Avery, Lawrence, Teddy, Sawyer, Hawkins, Cora, Ty and Kloe. Also survived by her mother-in-law, Paula Willaert (Late Etienne 2015), her brother Ron Parry (Late Linda 2023) and by her brothers-in-law, Ken (Xiao Hong), Gary (Wendy) and Bill (Jo-Ann) as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Larry Parry (2024). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford. Donations to the PSP Society of Canada will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
